It's Chinese tradition to celebrate the one month mark of a newborn (you're not supposed to officially announce the baby's name until then, but we didn't quite follow that rule). Anyway, July 18th was a Wednesday, plus James and I have been feeling pretty wiped out lately, so we had a small casual dinner gathering at home. It was great to be able to socialize almost like "normal" again. Nathan was pretty well behaved and stayed awake from 7 till 10pm (did have to feed him a couple of times). We had pizza for dinner and Emily brought a chocolate birthday cake. Unfortunately Nathan couldn't taste it yet but mommy and daddy enjoyed it very much =) Traditionally we're supposed to give out "hong dan" (hard boiled eggs that are dyed red on the outside) but my mom made some tea eggs instead. They taste better too!
