After much begging for a pet, Nathan's finally got his wish: a hamster! Originally he named him "Nibbler" after the mouse in the Gregor Overlander book series, but after a week "Hammy" was the name that stuck.
So far Nathan has done a terrific job of taking care of Hammy. He feeds him twice a day, and lets him out of his cage to exercise every night. He even cleaned his cage today! Our next project is to find a bigger cage for Hammy since he seems pretty cramped in the original cage that we got for him (already the biggest hamster cage at the pet store). Hammy has managed to escape twice already from his current cage!
