First Christmas

Nathan's first Christmas came and went so quickly. We discovered that he loves chewing on wrapping paper. Once he gets a hold of some it's tough to get him to let go. We originally got him a Santa hat to wear for picture taking, but it's such a comfy and warm hat that he wore it everywhere we went.
I wasn't energetic enough to get a tree, but James found a very cute Pooh and Piglet themed "Baby's first Christmas" tree ornament. It's the cutest thing ever. I have a lot more motivation to get a tree for next year now.
Nathan enjoys looking at the Christmas lights in our street but he's only seen them briefly from our garage. It's so cold these days we've been avoiding going outside after dark.
We spent Christmas eve with our neighbors Pam and Antonio (they absolutely adore Nathan and treat him like a grandson) and all their extended family. Nathan was in a pretty good mood all night and got to play with Pam's three granddaughters. Sarah (8) and Annie (6) were holding his hands and teaching him how to clap which is the cutest thing. Kate (2) was offering him some of her animal toys and Nathan would actually grab them but they end up straight in his mouth.
On Christmas day Sophie and Mike invited us over for dinner and it was quite a treat. Sophie made a whole turkey (learned trick about flipping turkey over to let juice run back into the breast) and chestnut stuffing, yum. James and I baked some gingerbread cookies. We spent more time decorating them than baking. It was a lot of fun though and we can probably make it into a tradition.
