Nathan's obssession about plugs continues. At home we put a bunch of old extension cords, plug boards, and small appliances in a "pink box". That box has become Nathan's treasure chest. We have officially given up in stopping him from plugging things into the wall. His fingers are strong enough to remove the child safe caps, and he's even been shocked twice already. Did it stop him? Nope not one bit.
At school, they have started calling Nathan the "future electrical engineers". Even though he knows not to play with real electricity there, he found many other creative means. He pretend plays using masking tape, strings, or anything that resembles a cord. Whenever we sit down and draw it's always focused on plugs as well. He even starting making plug boards out of playdoh (I showed him how to make an imprint of an outlet with a circle and two dashes in the middle and that kept him amused for almost half an hour).
Examples go on...
- When we went to the aquarium, instead of looking at the fish, Nathan was more interested in finding all the outlets and plugs.
- Today a neighbor down the street rented a big bouncy house for a birthday party. Nathan was interested so James took him to see. Later in the evening I asked Nathan whether he went inside the jumping house. He got very excited and said "Orange cord plugged in, very very long!" I couldn't stop laughing.
